HELEN will host a press party featuring Emerge Global, an international organization with local ties. Emerge Global helps young women in Sri Lanka who are dealing with rape or incest.

Local Harrison High School graduate and Sri Lanka director Ellen Sojka will share her experiences with the organization. Plus, you'll be able to purchase jewelry and make a difference in another woman's life. Fifty percent of the sale goes directly back to the young woman who made the piece of jewelry.

The event will be held on Thursday, May 7 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at The Muse, 323 Columbia St., in downtown Lafayette. Appetizers will be served. Cash bar will be available. Admission is FREE for members of HELEN, Inc. Cost is $5 for nonmembers. To learn more, visit www.emergeglobal.org.
